Burnt Offering (1)
One day God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be, and I will give thee a son also of her.” At that time, Abraham thought to himself, “Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?” Concerning the problem of Abraham having a child, God’s and Abraham’s thoughts were completely different.
Because we were created in the image of God, it would be wonderful for us to unite our hearts with God’s. However, Satan deceived us for a long time to put in us thoughts that were the opposite from the heart of God. Therefore people naturally had thoughts that were opposite of God’s, understood such thoughts, and considered such thoughts to be correct.
The biggest problem we have in coming forth to God is the difference in opinion between God and us. When Jesus went to the wedding at Cana of Galilee, they were short of wine. There Jesus told the servants to pour water into the pots and then serve to the governor of the feast. Most people cannot understand Jesus who speaks these kinds of words. It is because our thoughts are completely different from the thoughts of Jesus.
